Oh, poor, beautiful thing! That's life, I suppose, but it is sad.
I do like the fact that you've chosen to photograph a less-than-perfect specimen though. It can get tedious seeing perfect butterfly after perfect butterfly in the macro links!
Poor thing! (You and/or the butterfly). But if you look that good (for your species, of course) even when you're tattered and torn, then you're doing just fine!
Thats not the best looking butterfly I have ever seen - but its still great to see.
I posted a similar image called "Less than perfect" a while back - and I'm working on some words about the idea. I think I agree with your first commenter here.

Oh poor thing!
Stuck, that does suck.
Poor butterfly. Still so beautiful.
poor baby...
Hope your condition is improving and your chances of recovery and flight are much better than those of that tattered beauty.
Delicious photo, I love the colors, beautiful butterfly.
What a gorgeous butterfly! She wears her wings proudly!
Such ragged beauty... Thanks for sharing.
Yep, tattered, but still beautiful! Great shot, MZ!!
Such a wonderful representation of the trials of life.
Beautiful butterfly. It always amazes me how they can survive when they are damaged. Such resilience!
Oh poor moth and poor you.
Get some rest and better quickly
Must me a mother moth!!! Love your banner shot!!!
Beautiful and tragic.
Ouch poor thing.
it must be hard to fly with only half a wing. It is a very beautiful butterfly. :)
Poor butterfly. :-(
Oh man...can't believe I feel sorry for an insect, but I do. Bummer.
such great colors
Poor, tattered thing. It's so hard to get around in half a wing.
so sad yet so amazingly beautiful you have captured it !
