Oh, poor, beautiful thing! That's life, I suppose, but it is sad.

I do like the fact that you've chosen to photograph a less-than-perfect specimen though. It can get tedious seeing perfect butterfly after perfect butterfly in the macro links!

Hope your condition is improving and your chances of recovery and flight are much better than those of that tattered beauty.

Such a wonderful representation of the trials of life.

Beautiful butterfly. It always amazes me how they can survive when they are damaged. Such resilience!

it must be hard to fly with only half a wing. It is a very beautiful butterfly. :)

Poor, tattered thing. It's so hard to get around in half a wing.

Poor thing! (You and/or the butterfly). But if you look that good (for your species, of course) even when you're tattered and torn, then you're doing just fine!

Hope you are feeling better.

Thats not the best looking butterfly I have ever seen - but its still great to see.

I posted a similar image called "Less than perfect" a while back - and I'm working on some words about the idea. I think I agree with your first commenter here.

cheers
