According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the adverb "fine" means "all right" or "very well." Nothing in either definitions suggests the need for an accompanying eye roll or dramatic sigh.
But I want to also add... "Fine" is NOT a good answer when you ask you husband "How do I look". If he gets an eye roll, he is lucky. If he gets the "glare", watch out! :)

LOL ... she's growing up!
LOL. My mother once remarked that she'd never encountered anyone who could use the word "fine" as a swearword before she meet my husband.
Been on both ends of that one! You too, I bet.

Funny, in my household, the word "fine" has become almost a select adjective that is usually uttered by both parents and the 11 year old prima donna.
Whatev! *eye roll*
