Review: Lucy Come Home

After fifty years of living on the streets of Chicago, Lucy Tucker is as independent as they come.  Having lost everything she had to lose years ago, Lucy won't allow herself to need anyone.  But, when Lucy finds herself to be the one needed - by a newly homeless young woman, her sweetly forgetful mother, and a dog named Dandy - she just can't walk away.  After all these years, can Lucy finally come home?

Lucy Come Home (Castle Rock Creative, Inc., 2012) is the first book in Dave and Netta Jackson's new Yada Yada series (Journeys of Hope), and Yada Yada fans will not be disappointed.  Lucy's story is rich, heartbreaking, and very well-told.  Lucy's character is . . . well, quite a character!  I loved her no nonsense attitude and sense of humor.  Lucy Come Home is a must read for Yada Yada fans, and a great start to a new series.
