Have you ever gone to some frou frou restaurant for a nice meal only to recognize nothing on the menu? What did you do? Did you ask questions and reveal your ignorance? Or, did you sit there feeling like an asshole, pick something at random, and hope it didn't turn out to be french fried monkey nuts?
Just wondering . . .

Most of the time. I pick something that sounds okay, and then not eat it.
french fried monkey nuts are not that bad...a great source of protein....smiles....i usually ask for suggestions, or favorite dishes...but that does not always work well...
I would probably ask what is the most favorite or popular item of the customers. Hope you have a happy weekend!
When I ask for the waiter's suggestion - it always turns out to be something I don't want to eat. Like lamb.
When I first moved to Italy I had to order my food in baby talk. I remember asking the waiter which item on the menu was the "baby moo moo." btw, I didn't loose any weight at all because of this disability. :)
that's why i don't eat in fancy schmancy places anymore! :)
I ask because those nuts don't sound appealing.
Yep, I avoid the fancy schmancy places these days, too! Can't afford to order something and then not be able to eat it - got better things to do with my money. Fun post as always! Have a tasty weekend!
I hate places like that. I'd be like, let's go get bbq or Italian! But if you absolutely super glued my unhappy ass to the chair, I would ask what stuff was. I could almost care what anybody in places like that would think.
On the other hand, Babs would order everything, and make the help eat the disgusting stuff.
I once ordered chips (thinking it would be like the English fish and chips) at a resturant, and they really did give me chips...
What! They might be really good! You should always try something at least once MZ. Didn't your Mama ever teach you that ;)
