Yesterday, I had a heart attack. At least, that's what my EKG said. And, that's what the doctor who read the EKG said before she transferred me to the ER.
In the ER, they didn't say much of anything. They were too busy Palin-izing my blood veins (drill, baby, drill!) and hooking me up to various beeping machines.
Finally, after what seemed like hours (no, it was actual HOURS), a doctor came to my bedside to give me the news. During my first EKG, two of the leads (the electrode thingies) had been positioned incorrectly. It seems I wasn't having a heart attack at all!
Isn't that a hoot? Why, a girl could just die laughing!

Good grief that's terrible! The stress of being told you're having a heart attack could have actually caused one! Sue!
holy crap...what a day...i am glad you are ok...
I'm so glad it wasn't a heart attack. Sorry you had such a bad day.
How scary! Glad you are ok.
OH my!! That's a HORRIBLE experience. While I'm glad you DIDN'T have a heart a attack...what a day!!!! Now can any of the drugs they gave you harm you ???
And you had nothing better to do anyway.....
Ohh My! That's enough stress to give you a heart attack. I'm glad you are okay! ~smiles~
WITH THAT TYPE OF STRESS IT'S AMAZING YOU DIDN'T HAVE A HEART ATTACK ANYWAY!
that is unbelievable, are you sure you weren't in a Canadian hospital? Oh wait, then you would have waited days, for that result, glad you're okay!
Oh wow! And in our incredibly litigious society they probably worried you'd sue over the incident!
So glad it was just an error!!
Holy Mother of God! Nothing like scaring the crap out of you FOR NO GOOD REASON!! Glad you are okay. Maybe you can make a "mistake" and not pay the bill?
oh my gosh! i'd have died of stress - induced by the news of a fake heart attack!
Did you punch the technician in the face? Holy. Glad to hear your heart isn't under attack :)
Don't get me started on our healthcare system - the one that suggested putting a pacemaker into my dying mother (who already had a pacemaker, btw.)
I am glad you did not have a heart attack. You seem to young and fit to me anyway.
What a scare!
Wow that mut have been quite the scare, almost enough to cause one. Damn doctors.
OMG!! No, don't get me started on doctors and the medical system in general these days!! I'm just so glad that you weren't having a heart attack!! Although their screwed up diagnosis could have produced one, that's for sure!!
Wow, how is that for the universe slapping you with a wake-up call. Time to get out and start living life for YOU hon.
Time to breathe, refocus and figure out what this all means.
Peace to you
If not for the hours in the ER, laughing would be the only thing to do.
Geez what were they trying to do? Give you a heart attack? So glad you're okay.
I'm speechless. Was this The Ringling Bros. Hospital you went to?
I'm also grateful. Very. That my friend is all right.
OMG, unnecessary surgery? Tell me you got something out of it at least. Besides terror, I mean.
Go scare!
And the doctors always say they are right. That's cause they are doctors.
lol
Did you feel you were having a heart attack??
What a horrible experience !
Awww... I'm sorry you've been so sick. That must have been such a scare. Then to be left that long only to find out they hooked it up wrong, talk about pile on the stress. It's enough to give you a heart attack!
Hope you're feeling much better today.
What made you think you were having one? Did you get any answers? Scary stuff.
That's a shocking story...and is serving as an inspiration to a future five minute fiction story. Hmmm....
Holy Crap! Your non heart attack could have given you a heart attack...seriously!
Oh - that is just terrible. Really awful. I'm so sorry. k.
ps - they might have induced a heart attack in someone less strong!
